The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets cranked it up at Dodger Stadium.

The New York Mets topped the Los Angeles Dodgers, 15-3, in United League action at Dodger Stadium. The player of the game was New York second baseman B.J. Surhoff. Tom Glavine got credit for the win, improving to 17-12. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 8.1 innings.

Surhoff provided the big break for the Mets in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double, helping New York to get the win.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Surhoff said.

The 4th-place Mets are now 76-73, the Dodgers 66-82.
