Hit #2000 for Cardinals Kennedy
|
Cardinals catcher Terry Kennedy never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 2000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Kennedy collected his big hit in a 6-3 loss to Boston.
Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now."
Kennedy went 3-for-4 for the game.
Kennedy has a lifetime .279 average with 2000 hits, 413 doubles, 13 triples, 208 home runs and 1033 RBIs to date.
