Orlando rode a good effort from starter Andy Benes to beat the Kansas City Royals at Royals Stadium. The final score was 7-2. Benes went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 20-7. Rudy Seanez got the save, his 3rd in 5 chances.
In the top of the sixth inning with two out, Orlando center fielder Brian Jordan hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 3-1, Sun Rays. For the day, Jordan was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
