Cardinals Top Yankees in Extras
|
The St. Louis Cardinals topped the New York Yankees, 2-0, in Federal League action at Yankee Stadium. The player of the game was St. Louis pitcher and The United States native Dave Fleming. Steve Chitren earned the save, his 5th. The Yankees fall to 14-17 and continue their wobbly start to the 1992 season.
Fleming delivered a quality start for St. Louis. The 6' 3" left-hander allowed no runs on 6 hits over 10 innings of work.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Fleming, "and let the rest take care of itself."
