Jaha Goes Wild, But Cubs Win
St. Louis first baseman John Jaha was sensational. He went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Chicago beat the Cardinals, 8-7. Jaha was named the player of the game despite the loss. St. Louis's current losing streak has reached 6 games.

The Cubs got an important contribution from second baseman Geronimo Pena, who in the top of the second hit a 2-1 changeup into right for a 2-run double. It was his 33rd double of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 2-0.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Cubs manager Anthony Perez. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
