Pirates Walk It Off for 15th Win of Season
|
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Ruben Sierra, the Chicago White Sox suffered a 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sierra slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Craig Eaton got credit for the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The White Sox fall to 13-19 and continue their uneven start to the 1992 season.
Pittsburgh grabbed a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the tenth when Carlos Baerga hit a run-scoring triple. For the day, Baerga was 2 for 2 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.
Baerga expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
