Brewers Come Back Late to Top Pilots
|
Seattle third baseman Vinny Castilla had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Castilla slugged 2 home runs, even as Milwaukee beat the Pilots, 6-5. Castilla was named the player of the game despite the loss. Milwaukee reliever Jose Melendez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Darren Holmes absorbed the loss. Mike Hartley, credited with the save, is now 25 for 36 in save opportunities.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the batter, Junior Felix, hit a run-scoring single. It helped Milwaukee seize the win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Felix.
The Brewers bumped their record to 80-74 with this latest triumph.
