Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Senators
The Senators grabbed a win, 3-2, at RFK Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Baltimore pitcher Dwight Gooden. Gooden went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Dan Quisenberry in relief. His record improves to 2-8. Steve Shirley took the loss. Washington is last in the United League East Division with a record of 62-94.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Brian R. Hunter came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Baltimore pitcher Steve Shirley, he hit a 1-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Washington on top, 3-2.

After the game, Washington manager Alexander Cumana applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
