Victory Pushes Blue Jays Record to 83-75
The Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Mets, 7-3, at SkyDome. Toronto left fielder Ellis Burks earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 83-75 with this latest triumph.

Burks provided the big break for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run, helping Toronto to get the win.

"Winning is contagious," said Burks. "We're looking forward to the next game."
