Detroit Tigers starter Ramon J. Martinez was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Montreal Expos, 3-1. Bob James earned his 39th save in 41 chances. Detroit is now 87-70.

One of the biggest contributors for Detroit was center fielder Lenny Dykstra. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, Dykstra got a 1-2 cutter and hit a run-scoring single. That put the Tigers on top, 2-1.

"I like our moxie," said Tigers manager Julio Izquierdo.
