Dodgers Come Back Late to Clip Padres
|
The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers cranked it up at Jack Murphy Stadium.
San Diego got a terrific performance from pitcher Eric Nolte, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles won the Jack Murphy Stadium contest, 7-5. Nolte was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Los Angeles has now won 3 in a row.
Tim Teufel, who finished 4th in the UL in doubles with 40 in 1987, aided the Los Angeles cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Teufel said.
