Jaha Hits 2 home runs in Cardinals Win
|
John Jaha helped his team muscle past the Texas Rangers, 8-3. In the game, the St. Louis first baseman went 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. St. Louis is second in the Federal League Central Division with a record of 94-64.
The Cardinals got an important contribution from second baseman Royce Clayton, who in the top of the sixth hit a full count fastball into left for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 6-2.
In postgame comments to the St. Louis Citizen, Jaha said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
