Giants Win in Glorious Fashion
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Seattle Pilots, 6-5, at Candlestick Park today. Leading the charge for San Francisco was designated hitter Von Hayes. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. San Francisco reliever Rusty Meacham was the winner. His record is now 7-3. The losing pitcher was Mike Henneman. The Giants saw their win-loss record go to 84-74. At the same time, the Pilots fell to 93-65.
Hayes went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times against the Pilots. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a walk-off solo home run that scored 1 and put San Francisco in front, 6-5.
