Dodgers Lose, 5-2, at Oakland Coliseum
|
Oakland left fielder David Green made his presence felt in the 5-2 Athletics triumph over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Green went 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. Oakland reliever Silvio Martinez was the winner. His record is now 10-8. Shawn Boskie took the loss. Bill Caudill notched his 47th save in 53 chances.
The Athletics got a big at-bat from first baseman John Kruk. For the game, Kruk was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 22nd home run of the season gave Oakland a 4-1 lead.
"I like our mindset right now," said Oakland manager JJ Williams.
This win makes it 5 in a row for Oakland.
