Yankees Walk It Off for 69th Win of Season

Yankee Stadium was rocking after an exciting Yankees win today.

The New York Yankees did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher John Tudor, who captured player of the game honors. New York is now 69-93, while Boston is 92-70.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Roberto Kelly came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Boston pitcher John Wetteland, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 2-1.

"Exciting game to play in," said Tudor. "Getting the win makes it even better."
