Atlanta played host to Cincinnati at the friendly confines of Atlanta Fulton County Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves topped the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3, in Federal League action at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. The player of the game was Atlanta pitcher Randy Tomlin. The Braves go to 75-87, putting them 4th in the Federal League East Division.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Rich Gedman put Atlanta in front, 4-1, with a 2-run home run. The Braves went on to win the ballgame.

"It was a solid team effort," said Gedman after the game.
