Blue Jays Win at Washington, 5-4

Both teams had their chances, but the Toronto Blue Jays eventually prevailed at RFK Stadium.
The Toronto Blue Jays grabbed a 5-4 win over the Washington Senators at RFK Stadium. Toronto designated hitter Larry Sheets was 2-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. The win was Rosario Rodriguez's in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Frank Pastore took the loss for Washington. Jeff Keener got the save, his 30th in 37 chances.
Ellis Burks, who is tied for 8th in the UL with a .835 OPS, helped out the Toronto cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 5, while scoring 2 times.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Sheets.
The Blue Jays bumped their record to 85-77 with this latest triumph.
