Twins Solve Reds, 5-2
|
Minnesota pitcher Chris Nabholz did his part in helping his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 5-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Nabholz got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Nabholz allowed 1 earned run. Despite the win, Minnesota, now 9-23, is off to a terrible start.
Todd Zeile had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the top of the second inning. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run, helping Minnesota to the win.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Twins manager Darren Fischbach. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
