Downs Twirls Pirates to Shutout Win
Today was Kelly Downs's turn in the rotation for the Pittsburgh Pirates and he made the most of it, shutting out the Texas Rangers on 2 hits.

The 31-year-old right-hander led the Pirates to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing 1 walk and tallying 7 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Texas manager Sean Norman said. "Downs certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
