Dodgers Edge Giants, 3-2
Los Angeles beat San Francisco at Candlestick Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Greg Maddux, who earned player of the game honors. Scott Radinsky sewed up the save, his 5th. The Dodgers, now 18-18, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Los Angeles used the clutch hitting of Mickey Tettleton to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Dodgers the lead, 3-2. For the game, Tettleton had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Maddux.
