White Sox Win in Extras
Wrigley Field was the site of a competitive game between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox.

Chicago got a terrific performance from pitcher Paul Wagner, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chicago White Sox. Chicago won the Wrigley Field contest, 4-2. Wagner was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Dave Righetti earned his 1st save in 1 tries.

Travis Fryman, who is tied for 10th in the FL in doubles with 10, helped out the Chicago cause in the top of the 11th inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 5.

Fryman told a Chicago Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The White Sox go to 16-25, putting them 4th in the Federal League Central Division.
