Red Sox Top Rangers Behind Hanson, 3-1
|
In a tight game between the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers, pitcher Erik Hanson was terrific on the mound. The Boston right-hander was named the player of the game in Boston's 3-1 win. Getting the save was Tom Henke, his 9th. Texas has now lost 4 straight.
Hanson made it look easy. He scattered 5 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 10 strikeouts. The right-hander upped his season record to 5-1.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Boston manager Kevin Patterson.
