Today was Jack McDowell's turn in the rotation for the Milwaukee Brewers and he made the most of it, shutting out the Montreal Expos on 2 hits.

The 26-year-old right-hander led the Brewers to an easy 9-0 victory, allowing 5 walks and tallying 7 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Montreal manager David Polakoff said. "McDowell certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
