Rangers Win in Extras

Fans who gathered at Riverfront Stadium saw a good contest between the Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds.

Texas starter Bret Saberhagen pitched effectively against the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 6-5 win. Even with the win, the Rangers have a dismal 12-37 record.

The Rangers beat the Reds with some clutch hitting. The double by Brian McRae in the top of the tenth is a good example. With two down, McRae gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he came through with the big hit.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Sean Norman, the Texas manager.
