Athletics Turn Back Los Angeles, 5-3
|
Oakland pitcher Silvio Martinez did his part in helping his team beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Bill Caudill nailed down his 14th save. This win makes it 5 in a row for Oakland.
Kevin Romine contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped send Oakland to the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Romine said.
