Late Rally by Braves Secures Win

The Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves cranked it up at Riverfront Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 7-4, in Federal League action at Riverfront Stadium, with Atlanta pitcher Ron Robinson named player of the game. Atlanta reliever Marvin Freeman picked up the win to move to 1-3. Tom Gorman suffered the loss.

Kevin Mitchell was involved in some late-game drama. With two out in the top of the ninth, Mitchell hit a 3-run home run. It helped Atlanta snatch the win.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Mitchell told the Atlanta Herald.

The third-place Braves improved to 31-25.
