Sun Rays Topple Red Sox with Late Rally
|
Orlando right-hander Kevin Appier made an effective start against the Boston Red Sox at Orlando Citrus Bowl, leading his team to a 6-5 win. The winner was Orlando reliever Rod Beck, now 2-0. The loser was Jose Mesa. Orlando is now 33-25, while Boston is 35-23.
Ken Caminiti had a nice at-bat for the Sun Rays with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the third baseman drew a walk, which would prove important in the Orlando win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Appier said.
