|
Dean Palmer helped his team muscle past the Texas Rangers, 6-5. In the game, the Pittsburgh third baseman went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Reliever Bryan Harvey picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Victor Cruz took the loss. The loss drops Texas to 2-5.
Jeff King had a nice at-bat for the Pirates with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With a runner on 2nd, the pinch hitter reached on an error by the 3B, which would prove important in the Pittsburgh win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Palmer said.
