Expos Lose to Dodgers, 5-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up a win at Dodger Stadium, knocking off the Montreal Expos, 5-3. Starting pitcher Greg Maddux, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Steve Bedrosian got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1 innings. Scott Radinsky converted his 9th save in 11 tries.
Contributing to the Los Angeles win was Daryl Boston. In the bottom of the eighth, the 29-year old center fielder had a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, the Dodgers in front.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Montreal manager David Polakoff. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Los Angeles is now 27-34, while Montreal is 22-40.
