Washington left fielder Pete Incaviglia played a vital role in his team's 9-3 triumph over San Diego. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs for Washington. Getting the save was Dale Murray, his 1st. Washington occupies 5th place in the United League East Division at 24-38.

Washington first baseman Mark Grace made his contribution to the Senators cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the day, Grace was 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
