Cubs Lose to Braves, 8-2
|
It was a good time at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, where fans came to watch the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves get after it.
Mickey Morandini was instrumental in his team's 8-2 triumph over the Chicago Cubs. The second baseman went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Atlanta Braves. Ron Robinson got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1.
Early in the game, right fielder Bernard Gilkey had a 2-run home run for Atlanta. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Braves on top, 2-0.
Morandini called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Atlanta is now 36-30.
