Atlanta Makes It 6 Straight with 11-8 Win
|
Howard Johnson made an impact in the 11-8 Atlanta win over Orlando. Johnson, who finished 3rd in the FL in slugging percentage with .580 last year, was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 4 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Mark Wohlers notched his 10th save in 12 chances. This win makes it 6 in a row for Atlanta.
With no one out in the top of the 14th, Darryl Strawberry hit a go-ahead 3-run home run. It was his 21st home run of the season and with it the Braves took a 11-8 lead.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Johnson said. "We did a good job of that today."
