Texas beat Minnesota on the strength of starter Bret Saberhagen's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 10-3 win. Even with the win, the Rangers have a dismal 20-51 record.

Phil Plantier's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant for the Rangers. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Texas leading 5-3, the right fielder hit a grand slam.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Saberhagen said.
