Texas rode a fine outing from starter David Wells to victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Wells got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Wells allowed 2 earned runs. Texas, now 3-5, is off to a slow start.
