The Oakland Athletics picked up a win at Oakland Coliseum, knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 2-0. Starting pitcher Danny Cox played a key role in the triumph. Bill Caudill was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 24 save opportunities. The Athletics bumped their record to 43-36 with this latest triumph.

The outcome was still in doubt in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Milwaukee trailing 2-0, Bill Caudill needed to get a big out. On a 0-2 changeup, Chuck Knoblauch, the 9th overall pick in the 1990 draft, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
