Hundley Impresses in Montreal Loss
The inspired effort of Montreal catcher Todd Hundley was not enough to prevent a 12-8 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Hundley hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 4. Ramon J. Martinez got the win, improving to 6-9. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The last-place Expos have lost 4 straight games.

Detroit needed the clutch hitting of Floyd Rayford to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Tigers on top, 4-0. For the game, Rayford had 1 home run and 2 singles in 6 at-bats.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Rayford told the Detroit Times.
