Benes Lifts Sun Rays to Win
|
Andy Benes never let the Cubs get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Sun Rays to a 4-1 win. The losing streak has reached 8 games for the Cubs. Manager Anthony Perez was visibly upset after the game, hurling a string of profanities en route to the clubhouse.
Benes scattered 4 hits over 9 innings for the Sun Rays. With the win, Benes moves to 2-0 on the year with 12 strikeouts.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Benes said after the game.
