Mets Walk Off with Win

The New York Mets overcame a good performance by Toronto left fielder Ellis Burks to knock off Toronto, 10-8, at Shea Stadium. Burks went 4 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. New York is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Gary Sheffield went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for New York. In a tie game with no one out in the bottom of the tenth, Sheffield came through with a 2-run home run. It put the Mets in front, 10-8.
