|
The Montreal Expos picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the Baltimore Orioles, 8-2. On the mound for Montreal was left-hander Pete Schourek, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8.1 innings, Schourek surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5. He allowed 2 runs. With the victory, the Expos record now stands at 67-86.
Gary Gaetti put Montreal in front, 6-2, when he took Ben McDonald downtown. His 3-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 33rd home run of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," Gaetti told the Montreal Herald.
