Hollins Delivers Walk-Off Win for Tigers
|
The Detroit Tigers got a good effort from starter Marty Bystrom in defeating the Montreal Expos at Tiger Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Detroit reliever German Jimenez was the winner. His record is now 3-6. The losing pitcher was Dave Leiper. Detroit has now won 3 straight, while the Expos have lost 3 in a row.
With no one out in the bottom of the 17th, Dave Hollins put Detroit in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring triple. The Tigers went on to win the ballgame.
Bystrom said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
