White Sox Continue Skid Thanks to Bonds, Red Sox
|
Behind the bravura of left fielder Barry Bonds, the Boston Red Sox topped the Chicago White Sox by the score of 9-3. Bonds went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Red Sox. Chicago is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
With Boston leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Bonds hit a fastball from Ken Hill for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 4-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bonds told the Boston Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
