Castilla Strokes 3 HR Against New York
Castilla Strokes 3 HR Against New York
Friday, August 7th, 1992
Seattle Pilots third baseman Vinny Castilla had a magnificent game against the New York Mets today, rocketing three balls out of Kingdome to help the Pilots take the 15-5 victory.

"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."

For the game, Castilla went 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Seattle manager Robert O'Neill said later. "Seems like Vinny found his home run stroke today."

Vinny Castilla flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Castillo in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Mike Birkbeck in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Randy Hennis in the 8th.

Currently Castilla is batting .220 with 17 home runs and 64 RBIs.
