The Texas Rangers certainly didn't impress many fans this with their play on the field. And now there is no hope of turning a dismal season around -- the team was officially knocked out of playoff contention today.

This is the club's 10th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 1982. In total, the Rangers have missed the playoffs 11 times in their 16-year history.
