Thomas 5-for-5 for Twins
Thomas 5-for-5 for Twins
Wednesday, September 2nd, 1992
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

Frank Thomas of the Minnesota Twins had one such moment at Wrigley Field today, when he went 5 for 5 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Minnesota fell to a 9-8 defeat to the Chicago Cubs.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 24-year-old designated hitter told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

Frank Thomas singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

A look at his current stats shows Thomas with a .284 average, 33 home runs, 110 RBIs and 102 runs scored. He has played in 137 games.
