Fielder Gets #300
Monday, September 7th, 1992
Milwaukee's 9-4 victory over Los Angeles was highlighted by Cecil Fielder's 300th career home run. His teammates congratulated him at home plate after he circled the bases.
"I didn't see all of them out there," Fielder said with a chuckle, "until I rounded third base." He added sheepishly: "It was only a home run. It's not like I won us a World Series!"
In 2 at-bats the Brewers first baseman collected 2 hits in his historic game, scored 3 runs, and had 5 runs batted in.
During his 1066-game career Fielder has batted .224 and collected 881 hits, 301 home runs and 643 RBIs.
