Appier Bewilders Braves in Shutout
Friday, September 18th, 1992
Today was Kevin Appier's turn in the rotation for the Orlando Sun Rays and he made the most of it, shutting out the Atlanta Braves on 3 hits.

The 24-year-old right-hander led the Sun Rays to an easy 8-0 victory, allowing 3 walks and tallying 12 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Atlanta manager Will Henderson said. "Appier certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."

So far this season, Appier has logged a 16-10 record with a 3.99 ERA. He has started 31 games, hurled 216.2 innings and registered 207 strikeouts and 62 walks.
