No Late-Season Magic Coming: Toronto Out of Playoffs

The mood in the Toronto Blue Jays clubhouse was noticeably subdued today, as the club's fate on the season was officially sealed -- they will miss the postseason.
"We put ourselves in this position," said Blue Jays starting pitcher Chris Hammond. "Nobody to blame but us."
Before this season, the Blue Jays last missed the playoffs in 1989. In the 16 years they have been a Doubleday Baseball League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 7 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 3 times.
