Rick Wilkins wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Division Series MVP.

The star's Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago Cubs by a series score of 4-1 to advance to the League Championship.

Kansas City won the final game by a 4-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Wrigley Field.

Wilkins hit .278 with a .350 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 3 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 3 runs.

"Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Wilkins.

The Kansas City Royals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the St. Louis Cardinals - Orlando Sun Rays series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
