Royals on to League Championship Sunday, October 4th, 1992 Rick Wilkins wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Division Series MVP. The star's Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago Cubs by a series score of 4-1 to advance to the League Championship. Kansas City won the final game by a 4-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Wrigley Field. Wilkins hit .278 with a .350 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 3 home runs, driving in 5 RBI and scoring 3 runs. "Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Wilkins. The Kansas City Royals don't know who they will face in the next round.
