Kevin Brown Nabs Prestigious Cy Young Award Tuesday, October 27th, 1992 The Kansas City Royals have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Kevin Brown, this year's Federal League Cy Young Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Brown compiled a 21-9 record in 31 starts, tallied 237 strikeouts in 249.2 innings and recorded a 2.60 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .219 batting average against him. Erik Hanson of the Boston Red Sox finished second in voting, while Mark Guthrie of the Kansas City Royals finished third. |
