DeShields, Giants Wallop Orioles in Game 6 of DS
The San Francisco Giants and the Baltimore Orioles will take the Division Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Giants beat the Orioles 7-2 at Memorial Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. San Francisco second baseman Delino DeShields was named player of the game in the win after he hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 5.

The Giants took a 5-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Baltimore hurler Steve Avery with two outs, DeShields hit a 3-run home run.

DeShields called the win "a collective effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Baltimore. The scheduled starters for the game are Butch Henry for the San Francisco Giants and Ben McDonald for the the Baltimore Orioles.
